J.P. proposed to Meghan on November 18, 2008, during a trip to Europe. Following a difficult start to the trip, the couple was unable to spend any time in Paris, where the original proposal was planned. However, the next stop, Zurich, Switzerland, made for a unique and beautiful proposal setting. While roaming the city that day, site seeing, they came across St. Peter's Church, the oldest parish church in Zurich. It was a stunning church with a large clock tower and multiple chandeliers lining the ceiling. Outside was a cobblestone courtyard, surrounded by colorful two-story houses and shops. As they entered the church J.P. knew this was the perfect place, it was quiet, private and memorable. After viewing the church, they went back outside to the courtyard, where J.P. got on one knee. Luckily, Mark Brown, J.P. and Meghan's friend who was also on the trip, was available to take some photos following the engagement.
